Many of us will face particularly difficult experiences in our lives, a tragedy that can impact us profoundly.  It could be losing your home after a natural disaster like a flood or a tornado.  It could be losing your livelihood, through factors beyond your control.  It can mean a life-changing diagnosis, for yourself or someone close to you.  It could be the loss of someone very close to us, the death of someone we loved deeply.

These experiences are very difficult to deal with.  What can help people through the process is resilience, the ability to process and cope with adverse life events.

We cannot control the events that take place, but we can learn strategies to navigate through these, to help us cope, help us adapt to these life events.  Building increased resilience is something we can all learn, that can help us on our life path to take the next step forward.
